As an amateur nature photographer, I like to think of my work as a modest reflection of nature's unparalleled beauty. Ultimately, of course, any photographic image will fall short of capturing something that is best experienced first-hand.
I use relatively inexpensive Nikon equipment: the D750 (full frame sensor) and the D500 (crop sensor), with either the Nikkor 80-400mm zoom lens or the 300mm f4 PF prime lens, depending on the situation. I find that this gear gives me the freedom to shoot mostly without a tripod and to be ready for those 'spur of the moment' photos.
Speaking of equipment, I have come to believe (though not everyone will agree) that expensive equipment is no substitute for patience, dedication, a touch of artistry, and a good dose of luck!
